Millions of dollars have been poured into health in the region over the past few years: major upgrades have been completed at the two major hospitals at Ararat and Stawell, both of which are serviced by air ambulance. St Arnaud has just completed a $500,000 upgrade of its operating theatre and, like Beaufort, boasts excellent health services.
