The 2009 Powercor Grampians Pyrenees Business Achievement Awards enteries are NOW CLOSED. Winners will be announced at a gala dinner on October 2nd in Ararat.

Held Bi-ennially, the Awards provide the opportunity for businesses to have their achievements recognised and a chance to gain competitive advantage. The categories have been changed this year and there are not as many so they will be more competitive than ever. Judging will be based on the organisations' demonstration and ability to meet the criteria as described taking into account the size of the business. There are 9 entry categories and an additional 5 judges awards presented on the night for the recognition of Best Overall Business, Best New Business, Young Entrepreneur, Envrionmental Responsibility and Effective Website Use.
Gala Presentation Dinner
The Gala Presentation Dinner will be held on Friday October 2nd at the Ararat Performing Arts Centre. Tickets $77 per person Dress Black Tie

The awards categories are:
1/ Outstanding Enterprise Organisations recognised with this award will demonstrate initiative and a willingness to undertake bold new ventures.
2/ Outstanding Innovation Organisations recognised with this award will demonstrate a proven ability to create, nurture and develop new products or services.
3/ Outstanding Primary Producer Open to Primary producers and agribusiness (i.e. grain, wool and meat producers, orchardists, viticulturists, olive and herb growers.
4/ Outstanding Product or Service Open to any business or facility that offers a service or has a specific product.
5/ Oustanding Home Based Business Open to any business operating from a home office environment.
6/ Oustanding Contribution to Tourism This award is open to any business contributing to the visitor experience in the region.
7/ Apprentice / trainee of the year This award seeks to recognise the excellence of an individual employee. An entrant to this category needs to be nominated by his/her employer.
8/ Employee of the Year This award recognises the excellence of an individual employee. An entrant to this category needs to be nominated by his/her employer.
9/ Outstanding Community Event / Festival of the Year This award recognises the contribution made by committees and organisations in developing a community event or festival within the region. | |
